WNT Development Team edges Hana in Marianas Soccer League
THE Women’s National Team Development Team defeated Hana Football Club, 1-0, in a Division B game of the Marianas Soccer League Friday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. Both teams were equally matched with neither team able to find the back of the net until the 43rd minute mark when WNT Development Team took advantage of Hana’s unprepared defense. WNT DT managed to push forward and create a shot opportunity deep within enemy territory, allowing Pia Ngewakl to score the only goal made in the entire match and give her team the lead, 1-0. Although there was still time, Hana failed to even the score due to WNT DT’s tight defense.
