Shirley’s FC outscores MPU FC in women’s soccer

Shirley’s Football Club scored one more goal than MPU Football Club to win, 2-1, in Week 3 of the Flores-Pee Luwal (Intermediate) Division A in the 2022 Dove Women’s League last Oct. 30 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Even with MPU’s Rachel Salalila drawing first blood right from the get-go in the first minute, MPU was shut down for the rest of the game as Shirley’s defenses tightened.

Marrielle Gariguez of Shirley’s FC did not find the net until the 20th minute to tie up the game and in the 44th minute. Her sister, Marilou Arriola, then managed to secure the win for her team as MPU tried but failed to tie it up or take the lead.

With this win, Shirley’s FC is at two wins and one loss and MPU have yet to win a game with three losses.

In the first game of the day, Southern United Football Club also defeated Paire Football Club, 2-1.

Keisha Deleon Guerrero scored the two goals for Southern United with one in the first half and one in the second half. Lindsay Davis of Paire scored the lone goal in the 10th minute.

Southern United remained undefeated and on top of the heap with a 3-0 card, while Paire FC dropped its second in three games.
