Kanoa, Tan Holdings beat opponents in U13 boys soccer

THE Kanoa and Tan Holdings football clubs defeated their respective opponents in the U13 Boys Division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.

Kanoa silenced the Matansa Football Club, 2-0.

In the first half of their match, both exchanged several shot attempts but neither scored a goal.

However, in the second half, Kanoa started to pick up the pace.

At the 26th minute mark, Kanoa’s continuous pressure finally paid off as they created a crack in Matansa’s wall of defense and left Aldric Antonio unguarded to sink the first goal of the day.

Six minutes later, team mate Akoni Matsumoto followed up with Kanoa’s second consecutive goal for a 2-0 lead.

Although there was still a lot of time left, Matansa failed to find the back of the net due to Kanoa’s defense.

Tan Holdings, for their part, took down Shirley’s Football Club, 8-2.

Six goals were scored in the first half with Tan Holdigns’ Emerson Brillo and Jerz Navarro delivering two goals each and adding two more in the second half.

Shirley’s Kimason Cabrera scored in the the first half while Neil Cunanan delivered in the second half.

Also joining the winner’s circle was MP United FC Blue which slipped past MPU Pink, 3-2.
