Kanoa 1, Southern United 1 lead U13 girls soccer

WITH three wins each, Kanoa Football Club 1 and Southern United Football Club 1 are the top teams in the U13 girls division of the 2022 TakeCare Youth Soccer League after defeating their respective opponents Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Against Tan Holdings 2, Kanoa 1 played well and won the match 5-2.

Kanoa 1 was able to set the tone early with continuous pressure as it only took them four minutes before Aubrey White connected the opening goal to grab the lead.

Tan Holdings 2 focused on protecting their end of the field, but to no avail as Kanoa 1’s Elikristiana Iglecias and Faith Arriola scored to widen their team’s lead, 3-0, by halftime.

In the second half, Tan Holdings 2 showed more confidence in their offensive play with Elyza Brillo scoring two consecutive goals to trim Kanoa 1 ’s lead, 2-3.

However, Kanoa 1 retaliated with two goals courtesy of White and Breatrice Gross to secure match victory, 5-2.

Southern United 1 performed almost flawlessly as they thrashed Kanoa 2, 11-1.

In the first half, Southern United 1 scored seven goals with Rosie Saralu delivering three for a hat-trick. She also led her team in the second half with three more goals.
