TanHoldings beats Shirley's; Pagarao shines in Kanoa’s victory vs Paire

Updated: Nov 26, 2021

AFTER a two-week break due to the recent Covid-19 community spread, the Dove Women’s League Fall 2021 is back in action with the TanHoldings and Kanoa football clubs defeating their respective opponents Wednesday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Against Shirley’s, TanHoldings unleashed energetic play with Jannah Casarino and Kaithlyn Chavez handing THFC a 2-0 lead early in the game.

Jasmine Phan scored a goal for Shirley's to cut the lead, but THFC responded with four goals courtesy of Britany Wally, Casamiro and Jenny Capayas.

Shirley’s Elaine Enriquez and Phan narrowed the lead again, 5-3, but Chavez and the rest of her THFC teammates tightened their defense in the second half with Wally, Casarino and Alyssya Angeles scoring goals en route to an 8-3 victory.

Kanoa 4, Paire 2

Playing against Paire FC, Kanoa FC’s Irish Pagarao completed a hat-trick in the first half to give her team a 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Paire's Bernadette Horey scored a goal but Pagarao responded right away with a goal of her own for a 4-1 Kanoa lead.

Horey managed to score again in the final minute of the game just before Kanoa clinched victory, 4-2.

In resuming the games, the Dove Women’s League said it followed the guidance of the NMI Football Association.

NMIFA, for its part, said it will continue to “prioritize the welfare and health of all NMIFA players and their families, officials, and staff.”

To comply with the protocols, only vaccinated individuals were allowed to enter the football facility as players, officials, or spectators. They must present either a vaccination card or its screenshot before entering the NMI Soccer Training Center.
