Tan Holdings, Paire bag soccer wins
TAN Holdings and Paire football clubs defeated their respective opponents in the Marianas Soccer League Cup for Fall 2021 on Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center. THFC snagged their fifth victory of the season after blanking the Kanoa Football Club 3-0. It was an even battle throughout the first half as neither team could gain the upper hand. The real action started in the second half when THFC began applying more offensive pressure led by Martin Jambor who took control and found the back of the net at the 52nd minute mark to give his team the lead, 1-0. Kanoa fought back but 20 minutes later Jambor connected his second goal for a 2-0 THFC lead. Kanoa remained scoreless as THFC broke through once again with Rakib Hassan delivering his team’s third goal just before the match ended. Paire vs Old B Bank
Against Old B Bank, Paire Football Club collected their second win, 2-1. The first half was scoreless, but Old B Bank managed to break the ice in the second half with Albert Bergancia slicing his way to score and give his team a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, that was Old B Bank’s only time in the spotlight as PFC stepped up their game and returned fire. Paire’s Alex Megino connected his first shot at the 74th minute mark followed by another goal 12 minutes later to give PFC the lead, 2-1. With only four minutes of play left, Old B Bank gave their final push but failed to equalize.
