TakeCare triumphs in week 2 of soccer premier division

TAKECARE was the only team to taste victory on May 17 in the Tinekcha-Awaal (Premier) Division of the Dove Women’s League at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. TakeCare outscored NMI U17 WDT, 7-3. TakeCare found their groove early, thanks to the footwork of Summer Manahane. She constantly penetrated through the defense and eventually connected the opening goal at the 6th minute mark. Although WDT returned fire with Megan Elayada and Vallerie Estella contributing a goal each at the 13th and 20th minute marks, Manahane delivered two consecutive goals at the 22nd and 31st minute marks to complete the hat-trick and regain control. Tamia Kileleman-Hix also joined the fray while Manahane drained her fourth goal to give her team a 5-3 lead by halftime. The action slowed down during the second half, but TakeCare still controlled the pace with Manahane finding the back of the net again at the 53rd minute mark followed by Pia Ngewakl at the 75th minute mark to seal the deal. Despite the inevitable loss, WDT managed to put up a fight with Elayada draining a last-minute shot at the 79th minute mark to somewhat ease the pain, 3-7. Kanoa vs Shirley’s The Kanoa Football Club escaped with a 1-1 draw in their game against Shirley’s Football Club. Shirley’s held the lead in the first half with Jannah Casarino firing the only goal at the 28th minute mark. But at the 71st minute mark, they failed to cope wih Kanoa’s attack and accidently scored in their own goal, resulting in a draw.
