MP United teams triumph in U13 boys soccer
MP United Football Club’s blue and pink teams earned separate victories Saturday in the U13 Boys Division of the 2022 Fall TakeCare Youth Soccer League at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
MPU Blue played well as they utilized their strengths to eventually overwhelm Shirley’s Football Club, 7-2.
As soon as the ball dropped, MPU Blue went on the attack with great ball movements that allowed Quido Jambor to score at the 3rd minute mark.
MPU Blue’s Seo Yeom joined the onslaught just two minutes later and added another goal at the 15th minute mark to give his team a comfortable 3-0 advantage.
Shirley’s Branson Santos, however, scored at the 22nd minute mark to cut MPU Blue’s lead by halftime, 1-3.
Early in the second half, MPU unleashed two quick goals courtesy of Landon Jordan at the 23rd and 25th minute marks for a 5-1 spread.
Shirley’s fought back with Santos scoring a second goal at the 33rd minute mark, but MPU Blue’s Woong Yeom and Jambor delivered one goal each to secure the win, 7-2.
MPU Pink vs Matansa
MPU Pink had a tougher match but still managed to outlast the Matansa Football Club, 2-1.
Both of MPU Pink’s goals were scored during the opening half. Theo Joab fired a quick shot to find the back of the net at the 6th minute mark while team mate Taiga Namai-Scoggins connected at the 18th minute mark for a 2-0 lead.
Although Matansa struggled to find their footing, they eventually built enough momentum in the second half with Anton Megino scoring a goal to cut the deficit, 1-2.
MPU Pink then focused on protecting their end of the field long enough to triumph, 2-1.
Also joining the winner’s circle was the Kanoa Football Club which silenced the Tan Holdings Football Club, 3-0.
