Kanoa Football Club claims Dove Premier League title
KANOA Football Club topped the Tinekcha-Awaal or Premier Division of the Dove Women’s League after a 6-1 victory over Shirley’s Football Club on Wednesday, May 11, at the NMI Soccer Training Center.
Kanoa was the aggressor from the get-go with Irish Pagarao finding the back of the net after just six minutes of play.
Shirley’s shifted to defense and prevented more attacks but they also remained scoreless for the remainder of the first half.
In the second half, Kanoa kept their momentum burning with Kaithlyn Chavez connecting a shot at the 38th minute mark for a 2-0 lead.
Five minutes later, Shirley’s Stephanie Flores responded with a goal to keep her team’s hopes alive.
However, that was the end of Shirley’s offense as they were shut down for the rest of the game.
Kanoa, for their part, continued to flourish and scored four more goals. Chavez led the pack by completing a hat-trick with two goals recorded at the 47th and 64th minute marks while Pagarao added her second goal at the 52nd minute mark. Allyssya Angeles then applied the finishing touch at the 69th minute mark to secure the win, 6-1.
Kanoa scored a total of 21 points and 38 goals after eight weeks of tournament play.
TakeCare vs Southern United
In another premier division game, TakeCare defeated Southern United Football Club, 4-1.
TakeCare drew first blood three minutes into the match when Josephine Cardelle scored a goal.
In the second half, TakeCare’s Mia Abuan provided her team with its second goal.
Saipan United finally broke their silence at the 51st minute mark thanks to Summer Manahane.
However, they failed to stop TakeCare’s onslaught which resulted in two more goals scored by Abuan at the 54th minute mark and Janah Casarino at the 62nd minute mark to secure the win for their team, 4-1.
