Kanoa bags second win in women’s soccer


KANOA Football Club is the leading team in the Tinekcha-Awall or Premier Division of the Dove Women’s League after earning their second straight victory by blanking Shirley’s Football Club 5-0 Wednesday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.

Kanoa found their footing early in the game as Irish Pagarao wreaked havoc from within, slithering past defenders to find the back of the net just two minutes into the match.

Another Kanoa goal was squeezed in at the 9th minute mark by Allyssya Angeles to widen their lead, 2-0.


Shirley’s then defended well, but at the 35th minute mark, Angeles broke through once more to give Kanoa a 3-0 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Kanoa remained aggressive, scoring two more goals thanks to Kaithlyn Chavez at the 40th and 43rd minute marks.

Shirley’s remained scoreless for the remainder of the game which Kanoa won, 5-0.


TakeCare vs Southern United

TakeCare, for their, tasted their first victory of the season by outplaying Southern United Football Club, 4-0.

TakeCare established control early in the game when Britany Wally sunk the first goal at the 2nd minute mark followed by another goal five minutes later by Lily Muldoon for a 2-0 lead.

Southern United fought back in the second half but could not penetrate TakeCare’s defensive wall.

At the 52nd minute mark, TakeCare’s Bernadette Horey scored her team’s third goal while Wally sealed their victory, 4-0, at the 68th minute mark.
