Hana wins MSL Division ‘B’ title
HANA Football Club claimed the Division “B” title of the Marianas Soccer League by defeating the Matansa Football Club, 7-3, Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville Hana established control early in the first half with Hee Kang finding the back of the net 18 minutes into the game. Matansa tried to stop the bleeding but Han penetrated once again with Timothy Tawanipy at the finish to extend the gap, 2-0. In the second half, Matansa started to fight back with Houtom Cuohua breaking the silence while team mate Justin Weaver followed through 20 minutes later. However, Hana squeezed in five more goals of their own. Edwin Kim and Paul Jang ignited the run with a goal each at the 41st and 49th minute marks while Ace Lee scored two goals consecutively for a 6-2 lead. Matansa did have some fight left in them as Dane Hodges connected the team’s third goal at the 70th minute, but Hana’s Tawanipy responded with a goal to secure the win, 7-3.
