Tan Holdings FC, Kanoa FC coast past opponents

TanHoldings Football Club regained its bearings and walloped Shirley’s FC, while Kanoa also posted an easy win over Paire in the boys U15 division matches in the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.
Taka Borja and Kohtaro Goto were unstoppable for TanHoldings, as they each tallied four goals with the latter dropping all his shots in succession in a span of seven minutes. Goto made his first in the 61 st minute and the last three in the 62nd, 67th, and 68th. Borja closed out for TanHoldings with his fourth goal coming just a few seconds after Goto also recorded his fourth, while the former’s three other goals all came in the first half.
Ezekiel Canape, Aloyzeus Angeles, and Luis Claridades added two goals each, while Jancee Famularcano and Sherwin Dale Villanueva chipped in one apiece in TanHoldings’ demolition of Shirley’s. The losing squad got its pair of goals from Gabriel Arkoh and Rakib Hassan in the 61st and 65th minute.
In the first game, Kanoa eased past Paire, 6-1. Merrick Toves led the way for Kanoa with his hat trick, while Sean Gil, Ian Karl Maniago, and Taehun Han contributed one goal each. Toves lit up the board first with his shot in the seventh minute, while Paire equalized in the 14th off Kaden Church’s conversion. Toves went on to complete his hat trick when he made back-to-back goals, scoring in the 39th and 48th minute. Gil, Maniago, and Han had their goals in the 25th, 34th, and 69th minute, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the last game in the division, MP United remained undefeated after forcing Matansa to a draw, 2-2. Matansa threatened to hand MP United its first loss of the season as the former built a 2-0 halftime lead. Razeff Altamirano and Lolobeyong Benito delivered the goals for Matansa in the fifth and 27th minute, respectively. After a scoreless first half, MP United broke the curse, thanks to Christian Guerrero’s shot in the 28th minute. MP United then went on to foil Matansa’s upset bid after Oliver Fajardo knocked in the game-tying goal in the 40th.
In other results, MP United and Matansa’s game in the boys U18 division at the Hopwood Middle School Field also ended in a draw, 2-2.
Anthony Fruit saved MP United’s day when he hit the equalizer in the 80th minute, while Sunjoon Tenorio drilled the other goal for the squad in the 36th minute. Jether Yobech scored Matansa’s first goal in the 30th minute and the team got an own goal in the second half.
In the first game in the division, TanHoldings dominated the National Development Team, 7-1.
Mark Esalan and Jonathan Capayas registered two goals each for TanHoldings, while John Collisao, John Paul Cruz, and Mareko Tekopua added one apiece. Hark Galario delivered the only goal for NDT.
